For the past 5 weeks, Kelly Lester and I have collaborated with dance students in the Repertory Dance Company at USM to create a new site-specific dance work on campus, engaging with architecture and swamp cypress trees in a campus site nearby the Theatre and Dance building. The dancers spent time mapping the site with their bodies, observing and creating movement repertoire and writing haiku poems as they developed a relationship with the site.
